everyday vita: i’m seeing stars

Autumn has slowly crept into the world, just like cream slowly, swirls into a cup of dark coffee. I didn’t even notice it was coming, and now it’s everywhere. This past week has been super busy, but today things have slowed down a bit.

I’ve caught a nasty cold (which always seems to happen with the changing weather).  Today, I am at home sick from school.  I tried to push my way though chemistry class… but it just wasn’t happening. Although it’s never fun to be sick, I’m
cozy in my bed and my mom’s making me ratatouille stew for lunch (gotta love those vitamins!). It’s raining outside, and there is a nice, light grey light streaming through the window. There’s something I love about bed head so bad that my bun stays in even when I take the hair elastic out.

But enough about my sick self, now let’s talk about my exciting week…

Homecoming was Saturday night. This year’s theme was USA. As you can see, we went all out with the theme. I’m currently obsessed with the “hippie-headband”… it all started on throwback day for Spirit Week, and I’ve worn it every day since!

I ran five-miles on Sunday. It was one of those runs that felt so good I didn’t want to stop. On the way home, I stopped by the farmers market and picked up some homemade butter and about a gallon of maple syrup #YOLO.  I also admired all of the pretty pumpkins and squash.

AC Sutherland from High J Orchards sent me some delicious jars of applesauce.  Honeycrisps are my favorite apples ever. My favorite way to devour this applesauce is swirled with tangy, Greek yogurt and sprinkled with cinnamon and raisins. Autumn weekday breakfast at its finest.

Do you like rainy days at home?
With love,

  1. I do like rainy days at home. We've had that kind of weather for the past few days (and the only downside is that my room leaks) but now it looks like the sun is returning from vacation as lunch time was considerably warmer than this morning. I hope you feel better soon, I tend to catch the cold or something like it whenever I return from travelling. I guess it's the different atmosphere and probably trapped germs floating about in the plane, who knows.

Congrats on the five-mile run! I just started running last week but I doubt I'll ever be able to do that much xD.
